Tips And Techniques Of Charcoal Grilling
Charcoal grilling has been a tradition and part of the preparation in most important occasion in our household, whether it is a birthday party or a major holiday. Everyone enjoys eating various grilled recipes with a special taste of a good old-fashioned way of cooking them on a grill. And what makes up a perfect charcoal grilling experience includes good grilling equipment, knowledge, some basic ideas and safety measure to prevent any accident or injuries that may occur during cooking.
First measure that you need to consider is the proper place and space where you will put the grill. Make sure that there are no near items that can start a fire. And if you are grilling indoor, make sure that you have the right ventilation needed for the smoke that it may provide.
When igniting the coals, do not ever try to use a gasoline or kerosene. Reports say that it can cause an explosion which may result to injuries. Just use a lighter fluid and let it burn for at least 10-15 minutes to make sure that the fluid is already burned thoroughly before you start grilling. Allow the coals to have the proper heat spread throughout the area first where you will put the foods to be grilled.
Know what type of food you are going to grill so you can determine the amount of heat needed or coals that you should heat up. Direct grilling and indirect grilling are the two techniques used to cook different kinds of food. Ideal temperature and cooking time should be considered as well but may require skill and experience to be able to make a perfect grill.
Adjusting the heat is also an important part of charcoal grilling. There are times when you need to add or adjust the coal so you may be able to cook the food properly. This certain feature must be included on the type of grill that you should purchase. In addition, do not forget to clean your charcoal grill regularly. It is a good way of maintaining and making your grill last longer.
Taking down these simple steps can definitely make you enjoy a weekend of grilled chicken barbeque or steak without spending too much money dining out. However, if you don’t have a grill yet, why not try to purchase a charcoal barbeque grill and enjoy the cooking yourself for your family and friends. Some popular brands of a charcoal grill includes Weber charcoal grills (one of the most popular brands in the market), Napoleon, Bradley, Ducane and more.
